The LAT will mostly operate in a survey mode even when keeping an individual source in the field of view. This means that the telescope will hardly ever stare at a single point in the sky but rather try to achieve maximum sky coverage by performing scanning movements around a point. This strategy makes the best use of the large, homogenous field of view. On this page, the FSSC will summarize the available observations in terms of an all-sky survey and give various source statistics.
