The Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope

Support for Multiwavelength Observations

The GLAST mission recognizes the importance of multiwavelength observations for GLAST science (see the statement of the GLAST Users' Group). GLAST's support of multiwavelength observations is coordinated through the Multiwavelength Observations webpage. Among other efforts, GLAST sponsors the GLAST Telescope Network.

Please report multiwavelength observations that are relevant to GLAST on this webform. You may indicate that this information is proprietary. This information will help us plan the GLAST observing timeline.

The GSSC will provide a number of services that will support multiwavelength observations:

  • Timelines — GLAST's planned observations will be posted. These timelines and the associated tools will assist observers determine when a source will be observed.
  • Source Detectability Tools — The proposal preparation tools can also be used to estimate the detectability by GLAST of candidates for multiwavelength campaigns.
  • Multimission Analysis — GLAST's Standard Analysis System is an extension of the HEADAS analysis system, and uses FITS files, facilitating joint analysis of GLAST data with that of other missions or telescopes.

Questions about the GSSC's support of multiwavelength observations should be submitted through the GSSC help desk. Other questions about GLAST's support of multiwavelength observations should be addressed to Dave Thompson or Steve Thorsett (for pulsars).
